ALIYA GHARE is a Toronto-based illustrator and fine artist. Her work is preoccupied with transforming her particular perspective and ideas into probing and conceptual illustrations. She enjoys creating work that is grounded in figuration, storytelling, and activist concepts. Her visual language is a synthesis of realistic representation and stylistic design, producing a hybrid form of imagery with a contemporary aesthetic. With a mildly feminine approach, her imagery is characterized by a subtle witticism, often times combining dark humor and or metaphor to convey the intended message. In her spare time, she can be spotted in her natural habitat pouring over books, attempting to bake, and making obscure pop-culture references
